Manufacturing diesel and electric loco components requires very sophisticated and heavy jigs and fixtures, rotators and welding manipulators. wedesign and manufacture a range of jigs and fixtures, from simplistic manual setting jigs through to fully automated welding fixtures for loco components.

Over the years Boyd Smiths have completed a variety of different types of jigs and fixtures, manipulators and rotators for major locomotive producing unitsi.e Diesel Locomotive Works (Varanasi), Diesel Loco Component Factory (Dankuni), Diesel Modernisation Works (Patiala) and ChittranjanLocomorive Works (Chittranjan). In addition to them we also cater to zonal railways and loco maintenance shops for their non- stock / import substitute requirements.
